What wedding makeup and hair costs in Utah
What's actually included in the price, and how minimums and travel work.
I'm comfortable being transparent about what wedding makeup and hair costs, bridal party hair and makeup cost included. I don't want pricing to feel secretive. My bridal makeup is $275, bridal hair added to your makeup booking is $275, a trial is $250 per service, and wedding party makeup and hair are $180 per person. Travel is a $50 studio packing fee plus $1.50 a mile, round trip.
What you're paying for isn't an hour of makeup. It's the experience, the products in my kit, sanitation, education and years of experience, skin prep, customized makeup, lashes, body makeup when needed, communication before the wedding, timeline help, and someone who is going to show up prepared.
I want minimums to be really clear. Wedding bookings require a minimum number of services, and Saturdays have a higher minimum. Travel is also additional, because traveling for a wedding means packing my entire studio, driving to the location and setting everything up.
When you're choosing your artist, look for the green flags. The right artist listens before she picks up a brush, creates a look that feels like you, communicates clearly from the moment you inquire until you're walking down the aisle, and leaves you feeling more confident than when you sat in the chair. Beautiful makeup is important, but the way someone makes you feel is what you'll remember forever.
